Troubleshooting
Start with the message shown under the input field. Each one maps to a specific cause, and the list below covers all of them.
Quick checks that solve most cases
Make sure the link points at a single post
A profile URL, a Story link or a link from a DM will not work. Open the Reel itself and copy the link again from there.
Check that the post actually contains a video
Photo-only posts and the photo slides of a mixed carousel are outside what this version handles. The tool says so rather than failing silently.
Try a different version
If the largest listed version fails to transfer, try a smaller one from the same list. Smaller files complete more reliably on weak connections.
Wait a minute and retry
If you are told to slow down, waiting genuinely helps. Retrying immediately extends the wait rather than shortening it.
What each message means
- Not a usable link — the text is not an Instagram post link. Copy the link from Instagram again, including the whole address.
- Kind of link not supported — profile, Story or message links are outside the supported set.
- No video in this post — the post was read fine but holds photos only.
- Post could not be found — the post was deleted, or the link is incomplete.
- Post not publicly readable — the post needs a signed-in account, so this tool cannot reach it.
- Please slow down — too many requests came from your connection at once. Wait, then retry.
- Instagram took too long — the source did not answer in time. Usually temporary.
- We could not read this post — a problem on our side, not a wrong link. Report it and we will look.
- Download link expired — signed links are deliberately short lived. Submit the post link again.
- Tool is busy — every download slot was in use. Your request waits in line rather than being rejected.
- File too large — the video exceeds the per-file limit. Try a lower-resolution version if one is listed.
- Transfer did not finish — the connection dropped mid-file. Retrying usually completes it.
Nothing here matched?
Send the post link through the contact page and describe what you saw. Do not send your Instagram password or cookies — we never need them.
