How it works
Copy the post link
Open the Reel or video post in Instagram, tap the share icon, then choose Copy link. The sharing menu wording depends on your app version and language.

Come back to this page, paste the link into the field above and select Get video. ReelFetch reads the public post and lists the video versions it actually contains.
Save the file
Pick the version you want and select Download. On phones the file lands in Files (iPhone) or Downloads (Android) — see the device guide below.
What this tool supports
We only list what we have actually tested. If a link type is not on the supported list, treat it as unsupported rather than assuming it will work.
Supported
- Public Reel links: instagram.com/reel/<code> and instagram.com/reels/<code>
- Public video posts: instagram.com/p/<code>
- Older Instagram TV links: instagram.com/tv/<code>
- Links with sharing parameters such as ?igsh=… (the extra parameters are removed automatically)
- Profile-prefixed links such as instagram.com/<username>/reel/<code>
- Short links in the form instagr.am/p/<code>
- Posts containing several videos, listed in their original order
Not supported in this version
- Photo posts and the photo slides of a mixed carousel — this tool only handles video
- Stories, Highlights and live broadcasts
- Private accounts, Close Friends and anything that requires being signed in
- Audio-only files (MP3) and subtitle or transcript export
- ZIP archives, bulk export of a whole account, and scheduled downloads
A public link is not the same as a licence. Only download material you own or have permission to save.
Saving the file to your device
Where the file goes depends on your phone, not on this site. These are the actual steps we recommend.
iPhone (Safari)
Tap Download and let it finish. The file is saved to the Downloads folder in the Files app. To move it into Photos, open Files, tap the video, then Share → Save Video.
Android (Chrome)
Tap Download and let it finish. The MP4 is saved to your Downloads folder and appears in the notification shade and in the Files app.
Windows / macOS
Tap Download. Your browser saves the file to its normal download folder, exactly like any other download.
Frequently asked questions
Which Instagram links can I use?
Public Reel links, public video posts and older /tv/ links, including links that carry sharing parameters. The supported list above is the tested list. Photo-only posts, Stories, Highlights, live streams and private accounts are not accepted.
Do I need to sign in, or give you my Instagram password?
No. ReelFetch never asks for an Instagram password, an account, a cookie or a browser extension. If a page ever asks you for those on our behalf, it is not us. Any post that requires being signed in to view cannot be handled at all.
Why did my link fail?
The most common reasons are that the post is private or deleted, that the post contains no video at all, that the post is age- or region-restricted, that we are being asked to slow down, or that the source took too long to answer. The message under the input always tells you which one it is and what to try next.
Do you support private accounts?
No. Private content is never accessible to this tool, and we do not ask you for credentials to change that.
Why is the audio missing from my file?
Some posts only expose video-only tracks upstream, and some carousel slides have no audio at all. When that happens we say so on the download row instead of adding unrelated music. Where the post does offer a combined file, we use it so that picture and sound stay together.
What is the highest quality I can get?
Whichever version the post actually offers — no more. We list the real resolutions we found and we do not upscale a small file and call it HD. If the largest version available is 640×640, that is what you will see listed.
Where does the file go on my phone?
On iPhone it goes to Files → Downloads, and you can copy it to Photos from there. On Android it goes to your Downloads folder and appears in the notification shade. The device guides linked below walk through both.
Can I download a whole carousel, or a Story?
A post that contains several videos is listed item by item, and you can download each video slide. Photo slides inside the same post are not handled in this version, and Stories and Highlights are not supported.
How long do you keep anything?
We do not store the video files on our servers. Resolved link information is cached for 5 minutes so that repeated requests do not hit Instagram again, job records expire after 30 minutes, and the signed download link is valid for 15 minutes. Relayed transfers are streamed straight through and are not written to disk.
