Privacy policy

What we process

When you submit a link we process that link in order to read the public post. We keep a normalized form of it — the content identifier — in an in-memory cache for 5 minutes so that repeated requests do not hit Instagram again.

We record anonymous, aggregate events such as how many submissions were made and how many resolves succeeded or failed, along with a coarse language and page type. Raw post links, author names and signed media addresses are not sent to any analytics system.

What we do not store

We do not store video files. There is no media library and no archive. When a download is relayed through our server the bytes are streamed straight to your browser and are not written to disk.

We do not keep accounts, we do not ask for credentials, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Retention

Resolve cache: 5 minutes. Job records: 30 minutes. Signed download links: 15 minutes. All of these are memory-only and disappear on restart.

Aggregated operational counters are kept for 30 days. Application logs are kept for 7 days and contain request identifiers, error types and timings — not complete source links and not credentials.

Your IP address

Your IP address is used in memory for rate limiting, so that one connection cannot overwhelm the service. It is not written to the analytics record and it is not shared.

Cookies and advertising

We set one small, essential cookie that identifies your browser session so that your own job can be found again, and so that links are not guessable. It is not used for tracking or advertising.

Advertising slots may exist on this site. They are switched off in this build, and no advertising script is loaded while they are off. If advertising is enabled later, this policy will be updated before that happens, along with any consent mechanism the chosen provider requires.

Third parties

Reading a post necessarily involves a request to Instagram. That request is what any browser would make when opening the same public post, and it is subject to Instagram’s own policies.

We do not sell data and we do not share it with data brokers.
