Download on iPhone
These steps assume Safari, which is the browser most iPhone users have. The wording in the share sheet may differ slightly between iOS versions.
Steps
Copy the link in Instagram
Open the Reel or video post. Tap the share icon (the paper plane) and choose Copy link. If you do not see it, tap the ••• menu on the post first.
Paste it into ReelFetch
Open this site in Safari. Tap the input field, then tap Paste in the field menu and select Get video. Note that iOS may ask for permission the first time a site wants to read the clipboard.
Choose a version and download
The result shows every video version the post really offers. Pick the one you want and tap Download MP4.
Find the file
Open the Files app, go to Browse → On My iPhone → Downloads. The MP4 is there. Tapping it plays it immediately.
Move it into Photos (optional)
In Files, long-press the video, tap Share, then choose Save Video. It will then appear in the Photos app under Recents.
Things that trip people up
- If nothing seems to happen after you tap Download, check the download icon in the Safari address bar — Safari sometimes finishes the download quietly.
- iPhones do not save downloads straight into Photos. The Files app step is always needed, and that is a change Apple made in iOS 13.
- If the file will not play, the download probably stopped early. Delete it and download it again on a stable connection.
- Low Power Mode and private browsing can interrupt long downloads. Turning either off for the transfer usually solves it.
